The Wikipedia article on Copper discusses the Output of copper and lists Mexico, Central America, Africa, etc. as the producing areas among others. The article includes a chart which shows the areas in the world in which copper is produced. Utah is never mentioned. Kennecott Copper is never mentioned. The graphic chart does not show even a small blip for copper production anywhere in the Western United States. And not a single blip for copper production in Utah. However, Kennecott copper (owned by RioTinto) is one of the world's largest producers of copper. The Kennecott copper mine has been continuously operated as the largest open pit copper mine in the world for 100 years. 300,000 tons of copper are produced on average each year from the mine. For accuracy, this information should be included in the Wikipedia copper article on copper production. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.251.173.22 (talkcontribs) 15:22, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this map is misleading in its layout. Until a better production map can be found, I am removing this one. Thanks! --Bridgecross (talk) 16:23, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
