This equation for centripetal acceleration in the image is wrong. 1/mag(v) is not equal to v^2/R, which is the correct value. As a quick check, the units are wrong and the sum doesn't work out to dv/dt.

Thanks for pointing out this problem; I have fixed the labeling. The basis of the two terms is:

${\frac {d}{dt}}\mathbf {v} =|\mathbf {v} |{\frac {d}{dt}}{\frac {\mathbf {v} }{|\mathbf {v} |}}+{\frac {\mathbf {v} }{|\mathbf {v} |}}{\frac {d}{dt}}|\mathbf {v} |,$

or

${\frac {d}{dt}}\mathbf {v} =\mathbf {a_{c}} +\mathbf {a_{t}} \ .$
