In the building on the top floor left window there clearly is the face of a child. It is an identifiable face. If the address could be determined, there may be a possibility of identifying that child.

I disagree with the ascertain that it is a child. If you look closely, what appears to be a face is much to wide for a normal child. The 'eyes' of the child blend in with the windowsill and upon closer inspection are the areas between the paws of a cat sitting on the sill. You can see its ears which may add to the illusion. A child's face from a far distance wouldn't take up an entire half a window as this does, but a cat's paws spread out would give the dark/light illusions of a complete object. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadowmatrix (talkcontribs) 04:49, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture orientation

[edit]

The photo as posted appears to be a reversed image. I edited it and the sign on the building across the street from the shoeshine team has the address 104 Rue "xxx" can't make out the streetname, written in the middle! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wam52 (talkcontribs) 02:17, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this exposure could possibly be 10 minutes as claimed. I don't think anyone would stand that still even if his shoes were being shines for 10 minutes in order to get that clear of an exposure... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.166.60.47 (talk) 05:16, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Using some spatial filtering techniques, an arched 'MEILLEUR' can be made out as the 1st line of the sign in the distance. The 3rd line appears to read 'DE M. ARMES'. The 4th line reads '104 RUE DE/DU XX' or '104 RUE LE XX'. The beginning of the 5th line seems to start with 'HUILE'. Based on this, it would appear that this is an 1838 advertisement for some type of oil cure or product produced by a M. Armes and available at 104 Rue de/du/le xx in Paris. The person who can filter out the 2nd line and the second half of the 5th line will probably solve this puzzle. Lorien79 (talk) 13:54, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

People in photo

[edit]

When listing the people in the photo, why is the shoe shiner not listed? He's clearly seen shining the man's boots, and not completely obscured by the streetlamp. Clockster (talk) 08:55, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
