File talk:Capri Sun EMEA logo.png
Possible duplicate file
[edit]@Red-tailed hawk: (pinging you as the original uploader) This file is marked as being sourced from File:Capri Sun US and EU.png, which the creation log indicates was partially sourced from c:File:Capri-Sun Logo 2017 (EMEA).png. Comparing the two images, this one seems to be almost identical to the other - just with a slightly weaker pixel border around the text (which I'm guessing might be undesired effects as a result of image modification, though I could be wrong). Because of this, I was wondering if this file on enwiki is necessary, given that it seems to duplicate another file already on commons (please tell if I'm missing anything here though, with apologies in advance if I am!).

- The short answer is that I'm a bit doubtful that the EMEA logo should be on Commons for reasons relating to European thresholds of originality. The long answer is that this file is worse quality than the one on Commons, and this should probably just be replaced by the file on Commons, but the file that's on Commons probably should be kept locally here. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:11, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Red-tailed hawk Thank you for the response :) I'm unfamiliar with the process of importing files from Commons/replacing this with the Commons version - if you don't mind me asking, do you know what the best procedure to follow here would be? - I'm unsure how to deal with local duplicates, and the Commons file would have to go to DR first if we want to get around the EnWiki "please don't upload a duplicate file locally" abusefilter, so I'm not exactly sure how to proceed. Maybe a request at WP:IMP? — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:26, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Red-tailed hawk: I've taken a quick search in the archives of that page (which I wasn't previously aware existed - thank you for introducing it to me!), and it seems that such requests are declined (e.g. [1], [2]). —a smart kitten[meow] 03:40, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Interesting. Not sure what the next move forward is, then. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:45, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
