What use is this picture?

[edit]
  • These “buttons” are not the clothing buttons made from the coconut husk; and, if a preliminary step in the manufacture of them, these things are an extremely rough state.
  • (They are certainly not the confection.)
  • A quick websearch revealed no other types of “coconut buttons” which these might be.
  • There is no evidence in the picture that it was photographed anywhere in or near a factory. The currency shown to gauge size (a practice discouraged on Wikimedia, due its limited effectiveness) does little except to imply that the picture was taken by someone with conveniently available yuan notes.
  • The description provided for the image is sparse, and the title is slightly misleading.
  • Furthermore, though anyone familiar with the Chinese historical currencies knows that of the many items used, coconut buttons were not among those items, the juxtaposition with a yuan note could suggest such a connection. Confusion is further possible especially if the image was viewed as a thumbnail.
  • The single page on which this picture is used provides no further information in this regard.
