I think that this view is actually westwards, the high buildings in the distance on West End Lane; photo taken from Finchley Road and Frognal itself. Therefore an eastbound freight. I remember the siding on the north side of the line (buffer stop visible on right of loco) still being in use in the mid-1960s. (8474tim (talk) 18:13, 11 March 2012 (UTC))[reply]
