Mera/Maira river
[edit]I believe I have spotted an inconsistency (error?) on your wonderful map. Look to Lake Como, and just above the Adda river, you have labeled the Mera (Maira) river as bending to the east towards Maloja Pass and the Inn.
However, this easterly bend is labelled on maps as the Orlegna river. The Mera river comes (per its Wikipedia page) from the west. Somewhere between Piz Piot and Lagh da la Duana. Around the 2065 San Bernadino peak on your map.

Hello CapnZapp, concerning the river names exclusively, you are right. But, in some cases tributaries are bigger than the watercourse that preserves its name - hydrographically they can be regarded as the main stem. If such a bigger tributary is very much bigger - the Orlegna has twice the volume of the Mera at the point of confluence - the blue line follows the more important branch. Nevertheless, I have to admit that I might not have been following this rule consistently. I only tried to. Best regards --WWasser (talk) 12:02, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hello. If I understand you correctly, you want to keep the blue line as it is? If so I don't have a problem with that, except the uppermost part of the river's name should then be Orlegna, not Maira. Another option, I guess, would be to remove the name Maira entirely. - Note: I came here because I wanted to sort out where, exactly, the Val Bregaglia page is placing the "three seas" point. One thing led to another and I found your wonderful map. A small zoomed-in piece focusing on the area in question would make that article MUCH improved, and would it be okay to add it there (not the entire map, of course)? Again the best, CapnZapp (talk) 12:43, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- The problem is that for the next weeks I won't have enough time to modyfy the map as you need it. A solution might be for you to use the almost unlabelled issue of the map to make your own additions or changes (see here). -- WWasser —Preceding undated comment added 21:03, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
