Every time I see this photoshopped hack of an image I get irritated. Anyone who has actually observed lightning bugs would be able to tell that this image and multiple others like it that you have posted on deviantART are fake. Lightning bugs exhibit specific patterns when they glow. After just a little research, I found out that even in Germany (where I spent 1992 - 1994 near Frankfurt) the lightning bugs don't exhibit behaviors as you've supposedly photographed.

For the sake of the uneducated who don't actually know, please delete this photo from Wikipedia.
