If I am correct, the "guardian of midnight" is simply the representation of the Rat Hour, which is from 11PM to 1AM and the "guardian of morning" is the representation of the Rabbit Hour, which is from 5AM to 7AM. There are ten other hours in that system. Is it confirmed that these are "The Guardians of Day and Night" in Chinese Mythology? --Mohamed 15:52, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
