shouldn't Greek be anthropos rather than anthropinos? What is the point of this image? it shows examples of five randomly chosen writing systems, Latin, Chinese, Korean, Hebrew, Greek? Why in this order? we have the much nicer and more systematic Image:WritingSystemsoftheWorld2.png.

A modern Hebrew phrase for man is בנ אדם (transliterated: "ben Adam"), not just Adam. The direct translation is "son of Adam." While אדם is one way of saying "human being," as is יצור אנושי, which is perhaps more accurately translated to "human creature" in modern Hebrew, it is not the way to refer to a being as human in the vernacular.

I would refer to someone as a man by calling him בנ אדם in Hebrew. "הוא בן אנוש" is the formal construction for saying "He is a human being." Whereas the adjective "human" in Hebrew (i.e.: having the property of being human) is "אנושי."
