Descriptions please

Why are there no labels for each of the lens types? And what this system is doing overall? Is it a telescope? Is it a microscope? Are those doublets or achromats? Don't create a diagram and not label or explain anything. Thaddeusw (talk) 17:41, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
