Hard to distinguish the i at smaller resolutions with this colour[edit]

Hi User:Sdkb,

Would you be able to darken the greens in this image a bit? Currently, it's hard to distinguish the i at smaller resolutions. Example:

Or maybe you could upload an "Information icon green2" with a darker colour, since it's fine at higher resolutions? Thanks, DesertPipeline (talk) 11:55, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It seems it's mostly a problem with the "beginner" template colouring:

@DesertPipeline, thanks for the thought! I'm not very good at image editing, but I managed to (hopefully correctly) make it a bit darker; is it better now? {{u|Sdkb}}talk 15:56, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sdkb: Did you upload it as a new file? The image file history here isn't showing any changes. DesertPipeline (talk) 04:26, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DesertPipeline, yes, see File:Information icon dark green.svg. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 04:30, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sdkb: Ah, I see. Comparison:
That looks good to me. What do you think? DesertPipeline (talk) 04:33, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, looks better to me, too. If anyone's a graphics artist, the way I darkened the image also darkened the shadow, which isn't ideal, but that's not very noticeable. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 04:42, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sdkb: Maybe you can post on Wikipedia:Graphics Lab/Illustration workshop and ask for the shadow to be fixed? DesertPipeline (talk) 05:00, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, can you add the dark one to this one's description box as a variant, and add the light one as a variant to the dark one? I also suggest putting both in the description box of the blue one as variants. It makes it easier for people to find other versions. DesertPipeline (talk) 05:01, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done for the light/dark; I was just being lazy (and still am too lazy to go to the graphics lab, or to put all the colors (there's more beyond greens) as other versions at infoincon4. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 05:10, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sdkb: I can post to the Graphics Lab about it for you. However, is the gradient correct? I actually tried changing the colour myself yesterday and it seemed to get rid of the gradient. I'm not sure if that's the case with the one you made. If the gradient is gone, or non-obvious now (I guess I might say it's not as noticeable as the light green one?), do you want me to also ask for the gradient to be made more obvious? DesertPipeline (talk) 05:12, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The shadow gradient is a little too opaque. You can post about it at the graphics lab if you want, but honestly, I don't think it's worth the effort. If we're focusing on improving the icons used on Wikipedia, there are much bigger fish to fry. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 05:31, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
