This painting, was selected by His Majesty King George IV, to be the commissioned art work to allow the engraver WH Mote (William Henry Mote) into the Royal Acadamy. This completed etching was presented to the Greenwich Hospital March 1st 1831. This is the black and white rendition of this painting. This was also the year that the engraver William Henry Mote was included as a member of the Royal Acadamy. However, King George did not live to present the engraving, he died in 1830. The engraving was presented anyway, and still contains the presentment dates after the death of King George IV.
