[edit]The last line, at the bottom, is fecit, not secit; the cross-bar extends across, and fecit meaning made is more sensible than secit (whose meaning I don’t know). I can’t edit the commons page to fix this. — crism (talk) 04:04, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Human figures not named in the description?
[edit]The sidebar in Authorized_King_James_Version explains:
“ | The title page to the 1611 first edition of the Authorized Version Bible by Cornelis Boel shows the Apostles Peter and Paul seated centrally above the central text, which is flanked by Moses and Aaron. In the four corners sit Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, authors of the four gospels, with their symbolic animals. The rest of the Apostles (with Judas facing away) stand around Peter and Paul. At the very top is the Tetragrammaton "יהוה". | ” |
In addition to the twelve apostles, the authors of the gospels, Aaron, and Moses, I see a couple others who aren't clearly named in this description: there's a skeletal-looking figure right above the Lamb of God icon, a male face in the background under the battle-axe, and what appears to be boy with angel wings in the lower-left of the top frieze portion.
Can anyone explain who these figures are? Moxfyre (ǝɹʎℲxoɯ | contrib) 06:05, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
