Having visited this area often I do recognize the lower of the two pictures for what the French text clearly states: it's the necropolis of the former town, and not its "ruins". One can see the full-length Roman soldier to the left still in situ, and though the view may be blocked by the fruit trees in the orchards before the rock graves, the situation, except for the house to the right, has not changed. One can climb on top of this all, and continue walking through the many more necropoli on the hill behind, as well as visit several church ruins (this time the word fits) when going east.
