Photoshopping[edit]

In an encyclopedia, is it really appropiate to photoshop out elements of an image, as has been done with a light post in the background? It seems obvious that the intention of this statue was to strengthen Michael Jacksons flamboyant public image, and by removing the light post we "help" this "propaganda" since it makes the statue look more perfect than it was. Keeping the light post shows the statue's natural context and brings a more neutral point of view to the article. 90.232.81.30 (talk) 12:56, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(I'm the same person who wrote the above.) There haven't been any comments on this so I just wanted to bring it up again. I'm not sure what Wikipedia's official rules on this stuff is. 83.250.53.18 (talk) 10:14, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No offence, but I think this view is rather absurd. The intent of the image is to illustrate the object itself, not the object and a light post. --129.11.13.73 (talk) 17:40, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
