This map is wrong. The Mountain Hare is native to ALL the British Isles but has been driven to local extinction in Wales, most of England (apart from Dark Peak in the Peak District) and from most of Scotland apart from the uplands. It might also be worth adding a different shade of green for the Irish sub-species, the Irish Hare which unlike its British and European relatives doesn't turn white in the winter.
