Irish Flag

[edit]

Ireland's not part of the Britsh isles! The UK's part of the Irish islesMarkreidyhp 07:30, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Geographically Ireland is part of the British Isles. The 'British Isles' has always been the term to describe these areas whether they're British or not (for some reason). :P--Tlle1 (talk) 11:02, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the word "British" meant the islands first, before it had anything to do with the UK; then it was used by the UK as their demonym, because there is basically no other word which covers the English, Scots, Welsh and Cornish. - Oisín(Message) 22:07, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland

[edit]

The flag used for Northern Ireland is no longer recgonised and has not been official for over 30 years. Markmc93 (talk) 19:42, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But it is still recognised by many people and organisations as the flag. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 12:56, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is utterly unofficial for the Country; but it is still used for the ethnic Ulster-Scots / Anglo-Irish; which is what this image represents. - Oisín(Message) 21:04, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
