the comment on this picture is heavily incorrect. completely displaced. the circumference is the eternal symbol of eternity, not that funny 8 resting on its side. Notice that newton has, in the piece of paper, only an arc. meaning the circumference is incomplete. Blake attacks newton in this picture, because the latter can't apprehend the infinite quality of, for sake of the doors, objects. quotation from Blake: "God us keep, from single vision and newton's sleep" ...peace
