I would like to save this image from being deleted. I downloaded the Noggin stamp picture to illustrate our text which says "Noggin has received an accolade achieved by very few Norse characters - he appeared with the Ice Dragon on a British 'greetings' stamp (SG1804) in 1994." The picture is therefore used for identifying the stamp (not the subject). In accordance with Acceptable use/Images/Stamps and currency.

If this is not OK would more text about the stamp like "Peter Firmin also produced a series of illustrations for the advertising campaign to publicize the new stamps" referecing http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/noggin/stamps.htm prevent it from being deleted? I have tried to improve the non-free use justification but I think I need help. (Msrasnw (talk) 23:40, 24 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I think you may be trying too hard. You have all the fields completed, which is what the bots will examine. It may be sufficient to answer 'yes' to 'low resolution?'. In 'purpose', "identify" is a better word than "illustrate" -- the latter implying decoration rather than imparting knowledge of some kind. But I am no expert in these matters. Someone could still decide that the "critical commentary" is not 'critical' enough, or 100 other reasons. I suggest tackling them as they arise.

Reduced size of image as per user:davidwr's suggestion on [[1]] and changed summary to Non-free use rationale |Article= Noggin the Nog |Description=Noggin the Nog Stamp |Source=scanned image of UK stamp |Portion= |Low_resolution=yes |Purpose=identify the stamp in a section on the stamp |Replaceability=no |other_information= }) ) (Msrasnw (talk) 15:37, 20 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]
