I agree, and Poland should be changed to green as its parliament already ratified the Treaty. It doesn't matter whether President Kaczynski did not sign the law yet. In most countries, any law must be signed by a head of state in order to enter in force. Then either you turn also Germany, Estonia, Greece and Finland into blue (as of june 14th) or Poland must be green as the others. Finedelledanze (talk) 11:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Could anyone, please, change the colour of Poland on this map to cyan (RGB(0,255,255))? The president hasn't signed the treaty and it CANNOT be deposited in Rome. What he has done really is given himself the right to do so, nothing is obligatory however. Since we have cyan on the map it's been the right colour for Poland. It's also been explained on the Treaty of Lisbon wikipedia page.I've already tried to upload the corrected image, but the wiki doesn't trust me enough (update: I can't do this - image handling on Wiki is a horror :/// --Pawel-kermit (talk) 11:28, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Swiss Lakes

This is minor but as the lakes are part of Sweden, shouldn't their colour be the same as Sweden as a whole? Therequiembellishere (talk) 17:20, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

When I changed the base file last week, I chose this map by Glentamara because it had a the correct outline for Kosovo. That map came with these outlines of major lakes in Russia, Sweden, and the Netherlands and have an overlay to make them this lighter color that you've noticed. I initially removed the lighter color, but this made them look like countries. I couldn't easily remove the outlines of the lakes with Inkscape. I'm sure I could if I went in with a text editor, but I haven't spent the time. So that's what's up with the color. If you want it gone, contact Glentamara on the commons, who's one of the users updating this map anyways.--Patrick «» 17:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Poland

Poland should be stay blue. President Kaczyński not signed treaty. I'm a Pole and I watched that issue very carefully. On April 8, 2008 Lech Kaczyński signed only act over process of ratification, but not same treaty. Later Kaczyński announced he will sign treaty if will be ratified in Ireland. I concur. Someone posted a link to the Außenministerium in Germany on the Treaty of Lisbon talk page now. It confirms that not only the signature of the president on the instrument of deposition was provided on Sept 25, the documents also arrived at the revelant Italian ministry for deposition (apparently, the German embassy in Rome had the documents in their safe for quite some time now and just sent over a second-ranked embassy worker to have them deposited with the Italians). So, yes, Germany is done - finito, it's geschafft. P.S. I guess Guido does the revisions of this map... ;-) Themanwithoutapast (talk) 21:07, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

"Signed by president"...

One of the colours is described as "Ratified but no deposition of documents yet (i.e., signed by president)". New colours

This map is becoming slightly pointless now that it's all green! May I suggest a change to a more descriptive map, perhaps along the lines of:

• Ratified following referendum: Dark green
• Ratified following two referenda: Yellow
• Ratified by parliament: Light green
• Pending deposition: Cyan

I agree that it is becoming useless, and perhaps could be made to show the progress over time of ratification, and the various methods used. That said, people are understandably very protective of this file, and maybe we could use this as the base. Also, I'm not sure which other than Ireland had a referendum, but its good to start the conversation. I hate to comment given all the work you guys have done, especially since my hardware-imposed retirement, but you're missing a trick here. When the map goes totally green, that image and its previous versions will provide a nice slice through time of the ratification process. If somebody can go through the file history and extract off the previous versions (say once every two months) then the resultant images can be presented as a gallery. I've tried to give an example below, but I don't have the tech to come up with previous versions of the image and somebody else wants to use this PC (libraries, eh?). The treaty had to be ratified by each member state before it came into effect. The process was not instantaneous, and took nearly two years from beginning to end. The ratification process is depicted below:

If green means "signed by head of state", then Sweden has the wrong colour. Sweden has fully ratified the treaty, but the ratification process has not involved the Swedish head of state in any way.

Maybe different colours could be used depending on when the treaty was ratified? E.g. "ratified during first half of 2008", "second half of 2008", "first half of 2009" and "second half of 2009". Maybe also "first half of 2010" if Klaus is slow. (212.247.11.156 (talk) 15:28, 29 October 2009 (UTC))
