The Firebird Z-One is a German single-place, paraglider that was designed and produced by Firebird Sky Sports AG of Füssen in the mid-2000s. It is now out of production.[1]
Design and development
The Z-One was designed as a beginner glider. The models are each named for their relative size.[1]
Variants
- Z-One S
- Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 9.73 m (31.9 ft) span wing has a wing area of 26.8 m2 (288 sq ft), 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 60 to 85 kg (132 to 187 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
- Z-One M
- Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 10.19 m (33.4 ft) span wing has a wing area of 28.6 m2 (308 sq ft), 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 80 to 105 kg (176 to 231 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
- Z-One L
- Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 10.70 m (35.1 ft) span wing has a wing area of 30.39 m2 (327.1 sq ft), 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 3.98:1. The pilot weight range is 100 to 130 kg (220 to 287 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
