Location of the Flores Sea within Southeast Asia

The Flores Sea covers 93,000 square miles (240,000 square kilometres) of water in Indonesia.

The following seas border the Flores Sea; they are the Java Sea (from the west), Banda Sea (from the east), Savu Sea (from the southwest), the Makassar Strait (from the northwest), and the Indian Ocean (from the south).

Islands that border this sea are the Lesser Sunda Islands and Celebes (Sulawesi).
