State Road 553 (SR 553) is a 1.4 mile-long, north–south highway in Plant City, Florida. Connecting U.S. Route 92 and Interstate 4.

History

State Road 553 originally appeared along the north–south section of, what is now, County Road 2224, in eastern Liberty County.

Route description

SR 553's southern terminus is at U.S. Route 92 to the east of downtown Plant City. The road's main intention to connect northeast Plant City to Interstate 4 is fulfilled when the road heads due north to intersect I-4 where the roadway continues north as North Park Road. SR 553 never leaves the city limits of Plant City and is also known under the name of Park Road and is a 3-lane divided highway north of US 92 all the way to Interstate 4.
