Francesca Sanders is an award winning playwright from Portland, Oregon.

She has been the recipient of the Oregon Literary Fellowship for Drama[1] and the Portland Civic Theatre Guild Fellowship For Theatrical Excellence.[2] She has also been a finalist for the Rosenthal New Play Prize[3] and PlayLabs (Playwright's Center Minneapolis).[4] She was the winner of The Lakewood Theatre New Play Competition[5] and the Mercury Rising Playwriting Competition.[6]

Sanders won a women's work residency at New Perspectives Theatre in New York and has been commissioned by such places as Portland Center Stage[7] Proving Ground (Salt Lake City) and Integrity Productions.[8] She has been selected to participate in the Seven Devil’s Playwriting Conference[9] and the Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive.

Her plays Celeste and Starla Save Todd and Win Back the Day and I Become A Guitar were performed at the Bartell Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin and the Kitchen Theatre in New York City, respectively.
