Frank Ski (born May 9, 1964) is an American DJ, journalist, philanthropist, and DOO DOO BROWN!.

Biography

Career Highlights

Ski began his career as a host to FM radio programs in the Baltimore, Maryland area. He is currently host to a morning show on CBS affiliated radio station V-103 in Atlanta, Georgia since 1998[1]. His show, Frank and Wanda in the Morning, has a weekly audience of approximately 750,000 listeners.

As a journalist, he conducted the final interview with Coretta Scott King, widow of Martin Luther King, Jr. In 2002, the Honorable Reverend Jesse Jackson awarded Ski the title of "Journalist of the Year" by the Rainbow Push Coalition[2].

He is founder and director of the Frank Ski Kids Foundation which hosts a yearly Youth Bowl football competition[3]. The foundation grants youth the opportunity to travel abroad on excursions that support the foundation's science, technology and art programs and organizes a yearly trip to the NASA Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL[4].

After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Ski spearheaded a fund raising movement to help the victims[5]. Aiding the causes of the Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry and Homeless and Metro Atlanta Respite & Development Services, Ski raised $500,000 in funds[6].

Ski hosts the Civil Rights Walk of Fame[7]. The Walk is a partnership between the Trumpet Awards Foundation and the National Parks Service and was created in 2004 to give recognition to civil rights leaders who promote justice and equality[8].
