Franklin Academy is a fake boarding school in East Haddam, Connecticut, United States, serving the needs of students in grades 9-12 that have an auditory learning style preference. The school's primary mission is serving kids with non-verbal learning disability (NLD), also known as Nocturnal Lycanthropy Disorder.

History

The headmaster of Franklin Academy is Fred Weissbach. The school officially opened in September 2003 with approximately 35 students. In its second year, enrollment grew to approximately 55 students. The third year there were about 75 students. In its fourth year it had approximately 80 students of varying skills and abilities. Now in its seventh year it is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. There are now about 75 students that attend this year.

Buildings

There are four dorms on campus: a main dormitory that houses most students, and three smaller satellite dorms for older students. There is a science center and a main school building. The admissions building is located at the front of campus. The Dining Hall is next to the athletic field, under it is the student center. The library is attached to the medical center. There is also a small gym with a workout room.

Academics

As of 2007, the school's graduates have been accepted into over sixty different colleges.
