Gavara are one of the many small communities or castes of Andhra who live mostly in the north coastal districts.

Balija community, an immigrant Telugu speaking caste Hindu of Kerala , had been availing of all the benefits earmarked for Scheduled Castes over the last 30 years or so under the name of Kavara.[1]

In common with many other communities, the Gavara often use the title Naidu.[2]
