George Dancis

Juris "George" Dancis (born 25 November 1931) is an Australian former basketball player of Latvian descent who represented Australia at the 1956 Summer Olympics.[1]

Born in Latvia, Juris was raised in the Riga district of "Vecāķi". Juris is married to Liesma, and they have a son, Pēteris. Juris' younger brother, Miķelis Dancis, was also a member of the Australian Basketball team. Dancis and his family reside in Adelaide, South Australia.

In 2006, Dancis was inducted into the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame.[2][3]
