Gfycat is a user-generated short video hosting company founded by Richard Rabbat, Dan McEleney, and Jeff Harris. It was a pioneer of the video alternative to GIF revolution in 2013. Gfycat incorporated in 2015 and has since raised $10 million in seed funding.[1] Currently, Gfycat offers a web platform for uploading and hosting short video content, as well as an iMessage GIF keyboard [2][3] and the GIF Brewery macOS application for GIF and video creation.[4] The site currently ranks within the top 75 in the U.S,[5] with over 75 million monthly active users.[6][7] Gfycat has offices in Edmonton, Alberta and Mountain View, California.
