Giuseppe Vitali (August 26 1875 - February 29 1932) was an Italian mathematician, remembered for the Vitali theorem on the existence of non-measurable sets of real numbers. His Vitali covering lemma is also fundamental to measure theory.

He was born in Ravenna and died in Bologna.
