Gonzalo Casco (sixteenth century) was a Spanish military leader and conquistador of Paraguay.[1]
Biography
Casco was born in Aviles. After being established in Peru, he arrived in Asunción, where he was appointed Alcalde and Regidor on two occasions.[2] Casco participated in expeditions against the tribes of Mayáes and Tomacocis.[3]
His wife was María de Mendoza Irala, the daughter of Gonzalo de Mendoza (Governor) and Isabel de Irala (daughter of Domingo Martínez de Irala).[4]
