Gurkirtan Chauhan (died 2 March 2009), also credited as Gurkirtan, was a well-known Punjabi actor.[1] He played various roles in many Punjabi films such as Tare Zamin Par, Tabaahi, Jat Jeuna Maur, Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris, and Shaheed-E-Mohabbat Boota Singh.

He began his acting career in theatre. His first appreciated role was of a villain in the hit film Jatt Jeouna More. He also worked in Chandigarh College of Architecture.

He married Paramjit Kaur in 1984. The couple had a son in 1985 who died at the age of 17 days. Chauhan died due to cardiac arrest on 3 March 2009. He is survived by two children, a girl and a boy.
