Hariharan Raja is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu. He is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a Commerce graduate from Madurai Kamaraj University and has also graduated in Law, he's a practicing Charted Accountant at present.

Raja a leading politician is one among those leaders in Tamil Nadu who could mesmerize the party workers by his oratory skills and a good crowd puller. His knowledge skills in Tamil, English and Hindi helped him in precise translations of the National leaders speech which make the audience spell bound.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Principles and ideology attracted him from the age seven and since then he continued to grow into a veteran politician and caring social activist with unshakable belief in Hindutva ideology. He was the ‘Mukyasikshak’ of RSS Karaikudi during 1974-75, Vibhag Vyavasta Pramukh (Arrangements In charge) of Rameswaram division in that cadre till 1988, as district secretary of Hindu Munnani of Sivagangai District between 1988 and 1990. Started Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 1980, contested in the assembly in 1989, became District Convenor of Bharatiya Janata Party of Sivaganga district in the year 1991.

Assumed charge as State Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 1993 and was in charge of Ramnad, Sivagangai and Pudukkottai Districts. Between 1995 & 1997 he has been in charge of the organization form Kanyakumari to Nilgiris. In 1996 Parliament election Tamilnadu BJP got highest % of Votes. Became MLA in Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in the year 2001-2006.

As an Ace organizer he has organized three State Conferences of BJP in Tamil Nadu. First one at Madurai in August 1995 which was a mega program of BJP. Raja a practicing farmer now also, is very popular among-st the various farmer organizations in the state and addressed so many rallies & a resource person in many organic farming conferences.

Honoured as “SIKARAM 50” BY THE India Today group publications in the year. The institute of Charted Accountants of India has honored him with the Role Model and Brand Ambassador of the profession Award in the year 2005.

  • Conducted Ramjothi Yatra in 1990, to carry the message of Ayodhya Movement to villages in the Sivagangai district.
  • Participated in the Rktha Yatraled by Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi in 1992 and lead a team of 15 from Sivagangai to rinagar.
  • Participated in the banned BJP rally under P. V. Narasimha Rao Govt. in February 1993 and was arrested by Delhi Police.
  • Participated in so many agitations and demonstrations of the party in the last two decades at various places.
