The Haitian Times is an online newspaper based in Brooklyn for the Haitian diaspora living in the wider area of New York City.

History

The Haitian Times was founded in 1999 in Brooklyn, New York as a daily newspaper printed in English, as opposed to French or Haitian Creole. It had published its first issue on 27 October 1999.[1]

It circulated 30,000 newspapers per week, 18,000 circulating in Brooklyn, 6,000 in Queens, 4,000 in Long Island, 1,000 in New Jersey, and 1,000 beyond the greater metropolitan New York City area. Since 2012, it has transitioned to an online-only news publication.[2]
