Henry R. Kahane

Henry R. Kahane (1902–1992) was a Romance philologist and linguist.

Biography

Of Austrian origin, he studied Romance philology in Germany and was a disciple of Ernst Gamillscheg (1880–1962) and Gerhard Rohlfs (1892–1986). He taught Romance philology at the University of Illinois, studied Mediterranean linguistic geography and has authored numerous articles on linguistics.
