Heptapolis (Greek: Ἑπταπολίς, meaning "seven cities") was the name of the capitals of the Heptanomis in ancient Egypt, and included the cities of Memphis, Heracleopolis, Crocodilopolis (later, Arsinoe), Aphroditopolis, Oxyrhynchos, Cynopolis, and Hermopolis.
