Herman David Koppel (Copenhagen, 1 October 1908 – Copenhagen, 14 July 1998) was a composer and pianist of Jewish origin.[1]
Born in Copenhagen, he fled the Nazis with his family in 1943. He wrote 13 symphonies, numerous concertos, and 20 string quartets.
He was the father of Anders Koppel, Thomas Koppel, Lone Koppel and Therese Koppel [2] and the brother of Danish violinist Julius Koppel.
