Hexal Australia is a large pharmaceutical manufacturer, formed in 1995 with Hexal AG Germany.
Hexal which was privately owned, one of the largest manufacturers[citation needed] in Europe of generic pharmaceuticals has been acquired by Sandoz, a subsidiary of Novartis.
