The Hispaniolan curlytail lizard (Leiocephalus schreibersii ), also commonly known as the red-sided curly-tailed lizard, is a common lizard species native to the Caribbean, though an established introduced population can be found in southern Florida.

Etymology

The specific name, schreibersi, is in honor of Austrian naturalist Carl Franz Anton Ritter von Schreibers.[3]

Behavior and diet

L. schreibersii is active during the day and feeds mainly on insects.
