51°58′44″N 0°16′55″W / 51.979°N 0.282°W / 51.979; -0.282 Hitchin Rural District was a rural district in Hertfordshire, England from 1894 to 1974, covering the north of the county. In accordance with the Local Government Act 1972, in 1974 it merged with the urban districts of Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, and Royston to form North Hertfordshire District Council.
