"Holly Rock" is a song written by Sheila E. which appeared on the soundtrack of the 1985 film Krush Groove, with Sheila E. also performing the song in the film. It is a high-energy rap number with Sheila E. rapping throughout most of the song. The song did not chart, but it became a fan favorite.[citation needed] The 7" single release was backed by "Toy Box", a track from Romance 1600.

Background
Holly Rock by Sheila E. is the sixth track (and only Prince-related track) on the movie soundtrack Krush Groove, the soundtrack album to the movie Krush Groove, and, nine months after the album's release, Holly Rock was released as the album's fifth single.
Initial tracking took place on 24 April 1985 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (the day after Evolsidog and four days before All My Dreams and Kiss).
Prince also uses the term "Holly Rock" in Dream Factory, which was recorded later in 1985. Hollyrock is the name used for Hollywood in the TV cartoon series The Flintstones, which may have inspired the track.
