Hydrops is a genus of dipsadid snakes. The genus is endemic to South America.[1]
Species
Three species are recognized.[1][2]
- Hydrops caesurus Scrocchi et al., 2005
- Hydrops martii (Wagler, 1824), named in honour of C. F. P. von Martius
- Hydrops triangularis (Wagler, 1824)
Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Hydrops.
Etymology
The specific name, martii, is in honor of German botanist Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius.[3]
