"I Am the Sea"
Song

"I Am the Sea" is a song written by Pete Townshend of The Who and is the first track on their double album Quadrophenia (1973), their second rock opera.

The song starts with the sound of ocean waves and thunder. The song plays the horn theme from "Helpless Dancer," Roger's theme, then Daltrey sings Entwistle's theme, "Is It Me?" The band then sings Moon's "Bell Boy" theme follwed by Townshend's; "Love, Reign o'er Me." Daltrey ends the song by singing "Can you see The Real Me? Can ya? Can Ya?" which immediately segues into the opening of "The Real Me."
