Deutsch: Fresko vor und nach der Restaurierung. Gemalt 1425 (fertiggestellt 1428), verändert 1680, restauriert in den 1980er Jahren. Die Feigenblätter wurden drei Jahrhunderte nach der Fertigstellung des Freskos hinzugefügt, wahrscheinlich auf Wunsch von Cosimo III. de' Medici, der die Nacktheit als „abstoßend“ empfand. Bei der Restaurierung in den 1980er Jahren wurden die Feigenblätter sowie die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte abgelagerten Schmutzschichten entfernt, um den ursprünglichen Zustand des Freskos wiederherzustellen.
English: fresco before and after restoration. The fig leaves were added three centuries after the original fresco was painted, probably at the request of Cosimo III de' Medici in the late 17th century, who saw nudity as “disgusting”. During restoration in the 1980s the fig leaves were removed along with centuries of grime to restore the fresco to its original condition.
Français : Fresco avant et après sa restauration. Tableau peint en 1425 (achevé en 1428), altéré en 1680, et restauré en 1980. Les feuilles de vigne furent ajoutées sur la fresque trois siècles après que l'original eut été peint, probablement à la demande de Cosme III de Médicis à la fin du 17ème siècle, qui a jugé sa nudité comme «répugnante». Pendant sa restauration dans les années 1980, les feuilles de vigne ont été enlevées, de même que des siècles de saleté pour restaurer la fresque dans son état original.
