Summary

Description

Taken by me on a mild April day, you can see the people who regularly jump off w:Te Mata Peak and two cyclist going down the mountain bike track.

They are not parachutes but paragliders. These have been developed, originally from parachutes, over the last 15 years. Unlike parachutes, paragliders are able to use air currents (ridge compression to keep aloft, or thermals to soar to cloudbase).
