Summary
| Description |
English: For hundreds of years cockfighting is common in the Philippines even before the Spanish explorers came. It is locally called sabong.
It is usually held on occasions such as fiestas and holidays. Today is it permitted by the government only of such occasions and on authorized venus such as covkpits or arenas.
