Summary

Description

Propeller on the the M/V Green Point in drydock at Tsuneishi, Japan, 2002, from http://www.usmma.edu/life/sea/images/seayear1.jpg. The light patches are there to prevent corrosion. The man in the photo is a midshipman at the US Merchant Marine Academy sailing as a cadet during his Sea Year.

The "light patches" are zinc blocks used as sacrificial anodes.
