The black marsh skimmer,[2] or light-tipped demon,[3] (Indothemis carnatica)[4] is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is found in many India, Sri Lanka and Thailand.[1][5][2][3][6]
It is a small dark violaceous or blackish-brown dragonfly with yellow markings obscurely showing through. Young males and females are yellowish. Its anal appendages are pale yellow tipped with black. It breeds in weeded ponds and lakes.[7][8]
