Iolaus aequatorialis is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Zambia, north-western Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Sankuru) and Gabon.[2]

The larvae feed on Phragmanthera usuiensis and Phragmanthera polycrypta subglabriflora.
